Daliana Shaffner on Aiden Fabric’s Designer Mary Ann Carpenter
With a large bank of windows that “brings the outdoors in,” the Lichty family loved their new home’s open floor plan. However, the afternoon sun was intense and they needed to infuse some color and pattern into their otherwise stark eat-in kitchen area that stayed inline with their “simple, streamlined tastes.”
Enter Jeremy Hadley and Aiden Fabrics. To introduce softness and color without being fussy, Jeremy created a simple board-mounted, tailored valance in a beautiful linen floral and vine print from P/Kaufmann and added lined grass shades to achieve respite from the harsh afternoon sun. The neutral taupes, warm greens and blue-grays created an inviting palette to match the upholstery and paint in other parts of the main living space as well. The end result is both simple, functional, elegant and warm.
